Flamengo reported this Tuesday (30) that striker Gabriel Barbosa, known as Gabigol, obtained a suspensive effect on a two-year suspension that had been punished for alleged fraud in an anti-doping test.

“Athlete Gabriel Barbosa is free to participate in competitions held by the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo. The attacker’s defense achieved the suspensive effect by unanimous decision”, says the club’s publication.

The text refers to a decision by the CAS, the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which accepted the request for a suspensive effect made by the attacker’s defense regarding the decision of the Anti-Doping Court of Sports Justice, on February 25th, which determined Gabigol’s suspension for two years. The CAS decision was unanimous.

Thus, Barbosa will be available for the match between Flamengo and Amazonas, for the Copa do Brasil, this Wednesday (30), at 9:30 pm.
