It was a truncated game, with many complaints about refereeing and few offensive chances. Once again, São Paulo and Palmeiras had a duel during the season and ended up in a draw.
With this scenario repeated, this Monday (29), in the fourth round of Series A of the Brazilian Championship , the game at MorumBis ended 0-0 .
This is the third game between the teams this season and the third time it has ended with an equal score for both sides. In the first of them, however, Tricolor managed to get the better of the penalties and won the Supercopa Rei , in February. In the second, during the Campeonato Paulista, the rivals were 1-1 and had a post-game full of controversies off the field.
With the new draw, now in the Brasileirão, São Paulo was in 14th place, with four points added. Palmeiras, in turn, is in 12th place, with five points.
Upcoming games
The two teams return to the field next Thursday (2) for the first games of the third phase of the Copa do Brasil. At 7:30 pm (Brasília time), Tricolor visits Águia de Marabá-PA, at the Mangueirão stadium, in Belém, Pará.
Palmeiras hosts Botafogo-SP, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Allianz Parque, in São Paulo.
Modified teams
The teams went to the field with news. In São Paulo, coach Luís Zubeldía lost midfielder Pablo Maia due to injury and decided to change the tactical scheme. The team was formed in 3-5-2, with defender Diego Costa and midfielder Bobadilla as new additions.
At Palmeiras, coach Abel Ferreira formed the team in a 4-4-2 formation, when he had possession of the ball. Acting as a starter, Estêvão was open on the right wing and also had the task of covering Welington’s climbs.
Meanwhile, Raphael Veiga was the one who acted looser, trying to supply Endrick and Flaco López.

After Palmeiras’ almost “blitz”, São Paulo proved to be more dangerous in a quick counterattack from the left. Luciano played, and Calleri finished well, but the ball stopped at the post, in the 21st minute.
After the move, the match was set for Tricolor to launch an attack driven by Ferreira’s speed. The team managed to advance on the field on some occasions, but the team failed in finishing. Thus, the match ended with a score of 0-0.
