Panama comes from behind to beat the United States and complicate the home team’s Copa América

Panama has tangled up Group C of the Copa América. On Thursday night (27), at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, the Panamanian team surprised and beat the United States 2-1, in a comeback, in the second round of the group.

The United States had Timothy Weah, a player from Juventus in Italy, sent off after 18 minutes of play. Despite being one man down, the American team opened the scoring. At 22 minutes, Balogun scored a beautiful shot and opened the scoring.

But the US advantage did not last long. At 26′, Blackman equalized for Panama. The Panamanian team dominated the actions, had possession of the ball and was rewarded in the 38th minute of the second half, with a goal from Fajardo, who entered the field in the second half.

With the victory, Panama reached 3 points in the group , the same number as the United States. The North American team has a goal difference, while the Panamanians owe a goal.

The situation in the United States now becomes complicated. In the last round, the home team will face Uruguay , while Panama will play against Bolivia.
