Atlético-MG is preparing to sign striker Deyverson from Cuiabá; see details

Striker Deyverson, from Cuiabá, is close to being announced as Atlético-MG’s new signing. The information about the negotiation was published by journalist Victor Martins and confirmed by Itatiaia. The 33-year-old player is expected in Belo Horizonte in the next few days for medical exams and to sign a contract. The negotiation is worth around R$4.5 million.

Deyverson has a contract with Cuiabá until the end of this season. The striker’s last match for Dourado was on Sunday (28), in the defeat to Athletico-PR in the Série A of the Brazilian Championship. This Saturday (3), the team lost to Vitória, but Deyverson was not included.

The striker began his career at Mangaratibense-RJ, but played for clubs in Spain, Germany and Portugal before joining Palmeiras in 2017. Deyverson enjoyed his best moments with the São Paulo team and was the Libertadores champion in 2021.

Since 2022, the striker has played for Cuiabá, a club for which he has played 83 games, scoring 33 goals and providing nine assists.

Atlético could say goodbye to the duo this window

In the current transfer window, Atlético could see two departures in the squad. One of them is precisely in the attack, with the imminent negotiation of Alan Kardec. The other would be in the defense, with the possibility of Igor Rabello or Maurício Lemos leaving Cidade do Galo.

The negotiations would open up space on the payroll and allow for new investments by the club.
