Atlético-MG receives enquiry from Sao Paulo for Mauricio Lemos

Atlético  -MG could lose another player in this transfer window. After the departures of names such as Jemerson, Edenilson and Patrick, the next to leave the club could be Uruguayan defender Maurício Lemos.

The 28-year-old defender has received inquiries from  São Paulo  and could be loaned to the São Paulo club, which is looking for a replacement after the sale of defender Diego Costa to Russian football. The information was confirmed by members of the Galo board to  Itatiaia .

Lemos was hired at the beginning of 2023, at the request of then coach Eduardo Coudet. That season, the player played 41 games, scoring one goal and providing one assist. This season, the Uruguayan has lost ground and has played 14 games, scoring two goals.

The defender’s last match was on June 23, against Fortaleza at Arena MRV. The number 4 was on the field for 23 minutes in the 1-1 draw in the Brazilian Championship . The player’s contract with Atlético-MG runs until the end of 2025.
