Fluminense prepares to sign Nonato, the first reinforcement of the “Mano era”
In need of reinforcements, Fluminense has arranged to loan midfielder Nonato, who belongs to Santos. The player was approved by Fernando Diniz before leaving the club, and negotiations have been going on for about three weeks. He will be the first reinforcement for the new tricolor coach, Mano Menezes.
The parties are agreeing a contract until the end of 2025, with an obligation to purchase, depending on the goals achieved by the player. Nonato was bought from Ludogorets-BUL and has a contract with Peixe until the end of 2026.
The initial information was published by Diário do Peixe and confirmed by Itatiaia’s report. Nonato was offered to Fluminense and former coach Fernando Diniz, with whom he worked in 2022 at Tricolor itself, gave the go-ahead for the deal to move forward.
The deal has not yet been finalized due to the dismissal of the manager. However, Mano Menezes has also approved the deal. At Flu, on loan from Internacional, he gained prominence and was sold to Bulgarian football. He played 55 games, with four goals and five assists at Laranjeiras.
At Peixe, hired in 2023, he played only 22 games and scored one goal. This year, Nonato has played only eight games and has not been on the field since May 24, in the defeat to América, in the Série B of the Brazilian Championship.
Fluminense returns to the field this Thursday (4), at 8 pm (Brasília time), against Internacional, for the 14th round of the Brazilian Championship Series A. The team is in last place in the tournament with six points.
