Gabigol spoke out last Sunday about the controversy, apologized to Flamengo fans and explained the use of the new number on the red-black shirt.

“I asked for the shirt, I chose it. The 99 has several symbols that they will understand over time and that I understood quickly”, declared the attacker in an interview with UOL.
