Italian Serie A will have a female referee trio for the first time
For the first time in its history, the Italian Championship will have a female referee trio on the field. The news will take place in the clash between champions Inter Milan and Torino, on Sunday (28), at San Siro.
Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi will referee the game, assisted by linesmen Francesca Di Monte and Tiziana Trasciatti. The three have already worked together in Serie B and Coppa Italia matches, but never in the national elite.
Internazionale won the Serie A title last Monday (22) by beating rivals Milan 2-1. This was the Nerazzurri ‘s twentieth victory in the championship.
Torino, which hasn’t won in three rounds, occupies only tenth place in the tournament, with 46 points.
