Paris 2024: Brazil loses to Japan in women’s football and gets into trouble

The Brazilian women’s football team lost 2-1 to Japan in the second game of the group stage of the Paris Olympics.

Brazil opened the scoring with Jheniffer, but the Japanese managed to turn the game around in the final minutes of the match with goals from Kumagai and Tanikawa.

With the result, Arthur Elias’ team is in third place in group C, with three points, tied with Japan, who won for the first time in Paris, and Spain, who will still play this Sunday (28).

At the Olympic Games, 12 countries are divided into three groups. The top two from each group qualify for the knockout stage, as well as the two best third-placed teams.

The national team’s next game will be this Wednesday, against Spain, at 12 pm, in the last round of the group stage of the tournament.
