São Paulo makes decision on James Rodríguez’s future
São Paulo and James Rodríguez’s staff are negotiating an amicable termination agreement for the Colombian. Therefore, the 33-year-old midfielder was released from the reappearance this Monday (22). The information was confirmed by the tricolor club.
James Rodríguez’s time at São Paulo is coming to a melancholic end. The player did not establish himself in the tricolor team under the three coaches who passed through the club: Dorival Júnior, Thiago Carpini and Luis Zubeldía.
James Rodríguez has only played eight games for São Paulo this year and 22 in total, with two goals and four assists. He joined the tricolor team last season and signed a contract until June next year, being presented to the fans alongside striker Lucas.
Last week, president Julio Casares had reinforced that the athlete could leave Tricolor, if there were an advantageous financial condition for São Paulo.
The departure of the Colombian midfielder, according to the manager, eases the payroll and makes room for the arrival of new reinforcements. Coach Luis Zubeldía, in fact, made public appeals for the team to gain another defender, a left-back and another defensive midfielder.
